TAMPA 鈥� The 91社区鈥檚 online MBA program is among the best in the country, breaking into the nation鈥檚 top 10 and becoming
the No. 1 program in 91社区, according to The Princeton Review鈥檚 .
The program climbed to No. 10 overall, rising seven spots from last year. USF also
secured the top spot in the state. Among public universities, USF came in at No. 7
in the U.S.
鈥淭he entire online MBA team works hard every day to deliver the exceptional experience
for our students,鈥� said Eric Douthirt, director of the MBA programs at the USF Muma College of Business. 鈥淭his ranking
is a signal that the work is paying off.鈥�
鈥淲e strive to create community, despite the digital nature of the program,鈥� he said.
鈥淚nnovation, excellence and student-centered service are hallmarks of USF鈥檚 online
MBA program.鈥�
The rankings are based on surveys conducted from administrators at 145 business schools
offering online MBAs and more than 11,900 students enrolled in those programs. Editors
used over 60 data points across five core areas: academics, selectivity, faculty,
technical platforms and career outcomes.
In addition to The Princeton Review recognition, earlier this year the program was ranked No. 16 in the nation and No. 2 in 91社区 by U.S. News & World Report.
USF鈥檚 online MBA program continues to attract students from a variety of academic
and professional backgrounds. Most students complete the program while working full-time,
finishing in two to three years, though some accelerate their studies to graduate
in just one year.
Douthirt said it is rewarding to know feedback from students and alumni played a part
in USF鈥檚 jump in the rankings.
For Richard McFarlane, an online MBA graduate as one of Poets&Quants鈥� 2025 Best and Brightest, the program鈥檚 flexible format made it the right fit.
鈥淲ith my busy schedule, the freedom of completing my coursework and lectures worked
best,鈥� McFarlane said. 鈥淚 can watch lectures multiple times if needed and do research
while professors speak. The professors were very responsive, so it felt interactive
enough to not get lost or confused.鈥�
McFarlane added that the flexibility was also the most rewarding part of his experience.
鈥淭he freedom to learn on my own time to fit my schedule was the most rewarding part,鈥�
he said.
Ashley Marie Hansen began the program in August 2021 while working part-time as a nurse in St. Petersburg after relocating
from Wisconsin. She graduated in May 2023.
Hansen credited the program鈥檚 emphasis on practical applications and group projects
with helping her build lasting connections with her peers and gain new professional
skills.
鈥淚t鈥檚 allowed me to live life on my own terms,鈥� she said. 鈥淚 now have control over
my schedule, and I鈥檓 building something I鈥檓 passionate about. I鈥檓 still able to save
for retirement, but I鈥檓 not limited to the grind of a job that has the traditional
two weeks of PTO per year. The opportunities feel endless.鈥�
