CBCS faculty awarded tenure and promotion

During the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences (CBCS) Fall 2025 Assembly held on Oct. 24, several CBCS faculty were recognized for receiving tenure and promotion. One professor was awarded tenure, and seven faculty members were promoted.

From the Department of Child and Family Studies, Heather George, PhD, was awarded tenure. 

From the Department of Criminology, Fawn Ngo, PhD, was promoted to full professor and Colby Valentine, PhD, was promoted to associate professor of instruction.

In the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, Jane Smart, PhD, CCC-SLP, was promoted to associate professor of instruction and Nathan Higgins, PhD, was promoted to associate research professor.

From the Department of Behavioral Health Science and Practice, Khary Rigg, PhD, was promoted to full professor.

In the School of Social Work, Maayan Lawental, PhD, was promoted to associate professor of instruction and from the School of Aging Studies, Lindsay Peterson, PhD, was promoted to associate research professor.
