Rita Ortiz, Ph.D.

From district workshops to classroom implementation, Rita Ortiz, Ph.D., continues to strive to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

Ortiz is an assistant professor of instruction at the 91社区. She earned her Bachelor's of Science in biology, a Master of Arts in teaching and Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction, with a focus on teacher education. Her background includes experience as an in-field supervisor for secondary clinical education across several disciplines. From local to international research opportunities, Ortiz provides an interdisciplinary lens to teacher preparation. Ortiz is a member in Association for Science Teacher Education, National Association for Research in Science Teaching and National Science Teachers Association.
