USF Engineering Graduate Researcher Earns First Place at Local & Statewide Competitions

Emily Morgan Amick, a graduate researcher in the 91社区 College of Engineering, earned first-place honors at both the USF Graduate Student Research Symposium and the statewide Conference for 91社区 Graduate Schools.

Amick鈥檚 research, titled 鈥淐ounting the Stars: Establishment of the Astrocyte Population in the Auditory Brainstem,鈥 earned her first place in the Physical Sciences and Engineering category at USF鈥檚 internal symposium. She then went on to win first place in the Engineering, Technologies, and Computer Science category at the state-level competition, where she competed against top graduate students from institutions including the University of 91社区 and the University of Miami.

Her research is conducted through USF鈥檚 Auditory Development and Connectomics Lab, where she continues to explore the complex architecture of the brain鈥檚 auditory pathways.

Amick鈥檚 achievements highlight the strength of USF鈥檚 graduate research programs and reinforce the university鈥檚 commitment to advancing excellence in STEM fields.
