Honors and Awards Council

The Honors and Awards Council (HAC) advises the Provost and the Senior Vice President for USF Health (or their designees) on matters related to university-level academic honors and awards. HAC also recommends nominees for these awards to the Faculty Senate, Provost, and President.

The Council receives and reviews nominations, which are typically submitted by members of the university community (e.g., faculty, departments, and administrators). The Council evaluates nominations for the following awards:

The Council may also review nominations for additional honors and awards that are established in the future and granted to members of the USF community.

Submission Deadlines (AY 2026–2027)

  • Notification of nomination forms due:
    December 4, 2026, by 5:00 p.m.
  • Complete nomination packets due (single PDF):
    January 15, 2027, by 5:00 p.m.

Recognition of Award Recipients

Award recipients are honored annually at the USF Faculty Honors & Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Office of the Provost. The ceremony is typically held in April in the Marshall Student Center Ballroom (Tampa campus).

Honorary Degrees are awarded at Commencement.
