Applying For Aid

Complete the FAFSA

The allows you to be automatically considered for federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs based on your dependency status and Student Aid Index (SAI).

How it Works

  • Use USF's School Code: 001537 — You'll be asked which schools you want your FAFSA submission sent to when filling out the form.
  • 2026–2027 FAFSA covers: Fall 2026, Spring 2027, Summer 2027
  • 2025–2026 FAFSA covers: Fall 2025, Spring 2026, Summer 2026

Helpful Tips

  • Submit Annually: You have to fill out a new FAFSA each year you want aid, and the FAFSA will determine aid for classes from Fall through Summer.
  • Plan Ahead: To make sure you get the right financial aid, plan ahead and know which semesters you'll be taking classes.
  • Check If You Need Contributors: Assess if your parent or guardian on your FAFSA. If they will be, you and anyone designated as a contributor on your FAFSA will each need an FSA ID.
