BIOGRAPHY:
Garrett Melich is the founder of Garrett Global Consulting, LLC, which provides physical
and technical security advisory services. Previously, he served as President of Level
Up, LLC, a Virginia-based small business focusing on cyber security, all-source research
and analysis, big data analytics, and information technology consulting. Prior to
that, he served as Director of Business Development for Leidos, a technology company
located outside of Washington, DC. Garrett developed and implemented business and
engagement strategies that brought cutting-edge cyber technologies to the Intelligence
Community. He retired from the Central Intelligence Agency in 2022 after serving nearly
24 years in a variety of leadership roles, culminating with his position as the Deputy
Director for Cyber and Digital Policy.
Melich鈥檚 career included multiple field assignments across Europe, Asia and the Middle East, serving in roles as a HUMINT intelligence officer, an OSINT manager, and a GEOINT analyst. Garrett also played a key role in the establishment of the Agency鈥檚 first new directorate in 50 years, the Directorate of Digital Innovation. The DDI brought together cyber, IT infrastructure and data management into the same organization as a means to demonstrate the increased importance these capabilities will have in the intelligence community.
