From the Classroom to Ghana: USF Patel College Student Puts Water Sustainability into Practice
USF graduate student Cassidy Ezzi traveled to Ghana to conduct research on water quality, sanitation, and sea-level rise. Working with researchers, she collected and analyzed water samples while examining community challenges. The experience strengthened her understanding of global sustainability and will inform policy recommendations for improving water resilience.

Professor Dr. Culhane went with PCGS students Chelsea Mandrigues and Zaid Alkhairi to ECGIC 2026 to present their opinions on the current state of sustainability and how we can move the world toward a more just place through community scale and home efforts. Both of our students had the chance to bring their perspective to the round table and the world.

Patel College awards $16,000 in scholarships
The Patel College of Global Sustainability honored a diverse group of students who are turning their passion for the planet into action at the Butz and Patel Distinguished Scholar Award Ceremony. The event awarded a total of six scholarships amounting to $16,000 (four $2,500 Butz Scholarship awards and two $3,000 Patel Distinguished Scholarship awards).

Miguel Maysonet Receives Drake Scholarship for Climate Resilience
Miguel Maysonet, a Patel College of Global Sustainability student, was awarded a $3,000 Amy & Michael Drake Scholarship during a luncheon on March 20th. This scholarship supports students pursuing a Master of Arts or Science in sustainability.
