U.S. News & World Report ranks USF a national leader for dozens of graduate programs

USF’s highest-ranked programs are industrial and organizational psychology at No. 3, criminology at No. 18 and rehabilitation counseling, which jumped 28 spots to No. 18, breaking into the top 25.

Psychology graduate students receive awards at the USF's 2025 Graduate Student Research Symposium

On March 26, 2025, the Office of Graduate Studies and the Graduate and Professional Student Council (GPSC) held their annual USF Graduate Research Symposium. Two Psychology graduate students, Alaina Helmerichs and Susan Rodriguez, won awards at this event.

Eleven USF faculty among 2024 class of Fellows of American Association for the Advancement of Science

David Diamond, Professor in the Department of Psychology (elected AAAS Biological Sciences Section), for pioneering research in the fields of neuroscience and cardiovascular disease, particularly in the study of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and the role of cholesterol in heart disease.

American Psychological Foundation (APF) Roy Scrivner Memorial Research Winner

The Roy Scrivner Memorial Research Grant, a prestigious national award recognizing outstanding contributions to LGBTQIA+ family psychology and therapy, has been awarded to Jason R. Schmidt Avendaño for his pioneering research exploring the neural mechanisms of emotional regulation in LGBTQ+ individuals within the context of family connectedness.
