TAMPA BAY – The 2025-2026 academic year begins on Monday with more than 8,600 business
students. What’s new for the fall semester at the 91ÉçÇø Muma
College of Business? The college added a seventh school, merged and restructured academic
programs, and is opening a new center for executive education.
Here are some of the highlights of what students will see this year:
New School of Management
The new School of Management becomes the college’s seventh school. Fueled by its growing demand for the management
major, the college restructured its existing management-related programs to bring it under one academic roof.
Management professor Ed Tomlinson will serve as interim director. The school will
house USF’s undergraduate programs in management, global business and entrepreneurship,
as well as master’s programs in management and entrepreneurship.
USF’s Nault Center for Entrepreneurship and the Bishop Center for Ethical Leadership
are also part of the new school.
Management faculty will specialize in areas such as strategy, organization behavior,
human resources, global business and entrepreneurship.

New School of Hospitality and Sport Management
The college merged the Vinik Sport and Entertainment Management program with the college’s hospitality
and tourism programs to form the new School of Hospitality and Sport Management.
The merger will prepare business students for multifaceted careers in sport, entertainment,
hospitality and tourism.
Lydia Hanks was named the school’s director. The new school will also house USF’s Brewing Arts Program, an online certificate
program that is based on the St. Petersburg campus.
New faculty and leaders
Eighteen faculty members are joining the Muma College of Business, bringing expertise in risk management, real estate, design science, accountancy, marketing and more. The new faculty include:
- The Baldwin Group School of Risk Management and Insurance: Yuan (Sabrina) Du and Dalton Crabtree
- Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy: Thomas Baugher, Inalegwu Ode-Ichakpa, Sung-Yuan (Mark) Cheng and Jan Philipp Klaus
- Kate Tiedemann School of Business and Finance: Randy Anderson, Wendy Liu, Bill Goede, Timothy Greer, and Parul Sharma
- School of Information Systems: New director Munir Mandivalla, Samuel Conn, Nasir Uddin and Shai Vardi
- School of Management: David Howard
- School of Marketing and Innovation: Robert D’Avanzo, Nguyen (Nick) Nguyen and Dinesh Puranam
The college appointed Jon Kaupla as associate dean and executive director for executive and leadership education, and Tim Heath was named associate dean for research, graduate programs and international affairs.
MS in Fintech and accelerator
The college welcomes its first class of fintech master’s students, including a student from South Korea's Sungkyunkwan University through a between SKKU and USF. The 2025 FinTech|X Accelerator with Tampa Bay Wave kicked off its fourth year with 12 high-potential, early-stage fintech companies.
