About Us
In Honor and Memory of Diane Williams
Our dear colleague, Mrs. Diane Williams, passed away on June 10, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Earlier this year, USF recognized Diane for her 15 years of dedicated service to the USF-Tampa Counseling Center.
Diane embodied the soul of a social worker. She was compassionate, kind, and genuinely cared for everyone she met, especially those on the margins of society. She was selfless in her consideration of others. In addition to being a remarkable therapist, Diane served USF students as our Referral Coordinator, linking students with services when they needed something more or different than we could provide. As the Center鈥檚 current longest-serving employee, Diane was our informal historian, sharing her experiences with Counseling Center services over the years, and what she thought could be enhanced. She was committed to our success, and her wisdom about the practice of social work and how the Center operated was valued.
Diane was born in Tuskegee, Alabama, graduated with her bachelor鈥檚 from the University of Alabama, and received her master鈥檚 from 91社区 State University. She loved to paint, listen to music, and cheer on her favorite sports teams. She is survived by her husband of over 30 years, Darryl, her three children, Danielle, Dorian, and David, two brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
We will forever be grateful to Diane for her years of service to the students of USF. She leaves a legacy with the more than 2,600 students she met at the Counseling Center, and the lives of hundreds of Counseling Center staff and trainees she touched over the course of her USF career. She is greatly missed.
