Preventing violence is everyone's responsibility! Student interns and volunteers contribute to a safe, supportive campus community through peer education and leadership.

From fall to spring semester, our student volunteers, PAVE, work closely with the Violence Prevention Team to build a safe and supportive USF community. Volunteers raise awareness about violence affecting college campuses and engage USF students in prevention initiatives.

In PAVE, volunteers can engage in anti-violence work in many ways: outreach, event planning and support, community mobilization, facilitation and presenting, marketing, and more! As peer educators, PAVE students play a crucial role in supporting prevention initiatives across campus. Volunteers receive ongoing professional development and training on violence prevention and trauma-informed support.


Violence Prevention Internship Program

Violence Prevention undergraduate interns do project-based work and support violence prevention initiatives, which can include assisting with facilitation, event planning, outreach, peer education, program development, marketing, and evaluation. Topic areas include sexual consent, healthy and unhealthy relationships, forms of violence, bystander intervention, and survivor support. Interns also have the opportunity to co-facilitate violence prevention workshops and to work on projects with long lasting impacts for the office.
