Department Sponsor - Fall Enrollment Now Open
For 2026-2027, USF will administer two separate insurance plans with Academic Healthplans (AHP) as our broker and United Healthcare (UHC) as Insurance Carrier. Both plans are PPO Preferred Provider Organization utilizing UHC鈥檚 Choice Plus Network, the largest U.S. provider network. Eligibility for each plan is based on population:
- Domestic, voluntarily-enrolling students, unlimited benefits, no waiting period, and compliant with U.S.
- International, mandated-students required to carry adequate insurance as a and as a cost of their tuition.
Eligible students, who are sponsored by the University and are not working as an eligible
GA/RA/TA, may enroll in the USF Sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) during
Open-Enrollment periods offered in the beginning of Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
Students/Scholars funded by their academic department/scholarship/grant can speak
with their department directly regarding their eligibility for SHIP coverage.
Your department will notify our office directly to confirm eligibility and enrollment
periods.
- Annual and Fall enrollment start July 15, 2026, through September 19, 2026
- Visit to review the 2026-2027 USF Student Health Insurance Policy and obtain your insurance card.
