Mandated Policy Information

For 2026-2027, USF will administer two separate insurance plans with Academic Healthplans (AHP) as our broker and United Healthcare (UHC) as Insurance Carrier. Both plans are PPO Preferred Provider Organization utilizing UHC’s Choice Plus Network, the largest U.S. provider network.  Eligibility for each plan is based on population:

  • Domestic enrolling students' plan has unlimited benefits, no waiting period, and compliant with .
  • International, mandated-students required to carry adequate insurance as a and as a cost of their tuition.

Eligible students in the programs listed below may enroll during Open-Enrollment period offered in the beginning of Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Students may also enroll due to a Qualifying Event and receive pro-rated insurance premium. 

  • College of Marine Science
  • College of Medicine*
  • College of Nursing*
  • College of Pharmacy*
  • Intercollegiate Athlete**
  • International Student on Optional Practical training or Curricular Practical training

Open-Enrollment for Fall or Annual coverage will begin July 15, 2026, continuing through September 19, 2026.

Visit to review the 2026-2027 USF Student Health Insurance policy and obtain your insurance card. MyCare26 is Academic Healthplans' (AHP) portal for online enrollment, waiver process, and benefit information used for the sponsored USF Student Health Insurance Plan.

* College of Medicine, College of Nursing, and College of Pharmacy students:
Students must submit proof of comparable health insurance to their respective college by the stated deadline, if opting out of the USF Student Health Insurance Plan.

** Intercollegiate Athletes:
Additional enrollment or waiver requirements may apply. Contact your program for insurance documents. Details will be shared once finalized (TBD).
